Rachel Roy At MACY's

I recently checked out Rachel Roy's RACHEL line at Macy's flagship store in New York. The line's looks are strong and unique for that woman who needs that one thing that no one else is rocking in their wardrobe. R.Roy, who usually has clothing concepts that are from left field, played into one of this season's biggest trends: pyramid buttons. She also has a purse line, which is in a modest price range, but would make fashion divas do a double take for its quality and forward fashion spin. Well lets say this album is a nice surprise. Miss Lady Love was def swinging for the fence when she made this album. There are a number of bangers on this album, which is 15 tracks long... a rarity in the music business these days. My favorite tracks are "Good To Me." The concept is pretty nice. Just when the economy is trying to make a come back, those potential fashion divas pull this mess: the return of acid wash jeans. I can't deal with it. First it was the Jodeci boots, then the shoulders pads and now this! Some body is playing a horrible trick on me. Don't bring this back people, not even in small increments. Let the 80s go and become an innovator.

Side note: some columnist for Honey Mag is touting the return of shoulders pads and saying women now need to have a strong shoulder. Listen up, my dears, this is a BAD move and the stylist who said this is idiotic. Don't do it.

Old News: Evan Ross

I'm not sure if I'm late, but I caught this commercial the other night. Diana's baby, Evan Ross, is trying to bring back struggling brand K-Swiss. I don't care what you say, K-Swiss use to be the "hot stuff" when I was a kid. Side note: E.Ross birthday is coming up on the Aug 26th. And clearly at the tender age of 21 his doing big things. According to IMD.com, Ross has a number of movies in production and several in development.

My momma always said love is in the details. Okay she never said, but it has a nice ring to it. Kanye's boo, Amber Rose, was seen rocking "Yeezy" bracelet. This picture is from the same day that her and K.West were seen coupled up following their return from vacation. You've already seen those pics on other blogs, but this one deserved to be noted. :)

Zoe Saldana picked up some Harlem swag for a Vanity Fair shoot. Has anyone noticed that her swag has hit 10,000 in the last year or so. Being in love does wonders, ahh?

The September Issue Premiere

The Museum of Modern Art in New York hosted the movie premiere of "The September Issue," a documentary chronicling Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour's preparations for the 2008 fall-fashion issue. Celeb and influential fashion icons came out for the event. Kudos to Cassie for rocking the hottest and most cutting-edge look. Everyone else played it too safe! Below is the trailer for the movie!

I was surfing the web and I ran into this little jewel... Matriochka (Russian Doll) Enamel Bracelet Bag by Chanel's Paris/Moscou collection for 2009. The bag line is pretty fab. While the line is not your everyday item for the average Jane, it's quite nice.

First Class: Frames

I don't believe that I have given either of these ladies, Victoria and Rihanna, the First Class title. But that's not to say that I can't put their frame game on the map. Both ladies took a nod from former first lady Jackie Kennedy Onassis... Love it. Ladies these frames are classic staples in fashion. No one can go wrong with these looks! Take note :o)

Music Video: R.Keri, Baby!

Check out R.Kelly’s brand new video “Number One Sex” featuring Keri Hilson. Kell's album is scheduled to drop October 13th. I'm loving the fashion in this video. Key items would be Keri's flesh-tone leather jacket. Love love love it! Her purple corset is also fierce. Keep an eye out for her bangle work as well. The black and white silhouette with the belt was also very dead on! And let's not forget the chucky white statement jewelry... Are you taking notes ladies?

Fellas, Kelly kept it real with the leather race-car jacket, which is a classic, and also knocked it out of the park with those purples shoes. I can't say much for that scarf, though.

Keep your eyes open people, fashion is every where!

B. Carter was spotted with are hubby Jay-Z, who's not pictured, at Bar Pitti in New York. I viewed this picture several times, and couldn't figure out why it's so familar. I can't find the piture to match, but I swear she is channeling Keri Hilson? I understand that B is her own original... I'm just saying.

Recently, a close friend of mines went to Europe for a fab honeymoon. She took this picture. As soon as I read it I thought I need to spotlight all of these designers. My second thought: why are people so label hungry? Just so that we are all on the same page, fashion is about expressing yourself and not following the masses. I point out trends. Yes, this is true.
