In case you haven’t heard, the hottest destination to visit in the U.S. is Vegas, baby! And not because the gambling industry has lowered hotel room rates because of the recession. Celebs such as Usher, Jermaine Dupri, and Paris Hilton frequent “Sin City.” JD loves it so much his crew the Ocean's 7 wrote a song for their upcoming mix tape, which features other members such as Trey Songz and Johnta Austin. Below is a YouTube clip of their song.

On The Come Up: Cody Hicks
Yes Sir or No Sir?

C808 may have just found the next designer of swag items for men! Meet 15-year-old Cody Hicks, who is the CEO of clothing label CHICKS. This young fly one who hails from Omaha, Nebraska has a portfolio of t-shirts, sweaters and Letterman jackets that made us do a double take. The look and style of his line is light years ahead of the typical stylings of someone in his age group.
"I started designing T-shirts and clothes for fun, but when I saw how others reacted to my designs I wanted to further my clothing line," said Hicks, who partnered with his friend Charles "Chuck" Dreager, also 15, to develop the line. " I'm just a regular guy that loves to design T's."
Hicks plans to have his first T-shirt design made this coming weekend. He also anticipates the day that he sells his first item and even launches a website that will allow Internet surfers to buy his clothes. His thoughts on fashion are that of a typical teenager: fashion is missing something and everyone looks the same. (We're not teenagers and we feel this way too.)
"I'm doing my own think, and being me," said Hicks, who is a big fan of Pharrell and his label Ice Cream. "I have so many ideas and plans for the future that I feel that I might be able to bring that fresh perspective back."
...Well you heard it here first folks. Keep and eye out for Cody and his label in a store near you! We believe his line is well deserving of a Yes Siiiiiiir node from us.

Ask Porsche Fab

Professional Makeup Artist Porsche Cooper has a delightful and fierce presence that transcends into her work. She truly believes that you don't have to spend a fortune to look like a you spent a load of money. Cooper regularly works with celebrities such as Chris Brown and Karina Pasina. She's also spruced up the faces of Chanel Iman and and other models who have walked the runway for Nanette Lepore. C808 caught up with Porsche to pin down her perspective of looking great in cost-saving times.
Porsche first gained a professional interest in make-up while working at Spehora in Texas. Several compliments from customers and co-workers gave her the encouragement needed to try to become a full-time makeup artist.

Her big break came at the hand Chris Brown's team. The singer was co-hosting BET Rip The Runway with Ciara. And while Porsche was preparing models backstage, Brown's manager requested a groomer, which is a makeup and skin-care professional for males. "His manager liked my work and suggested that we keep in touch because she was always in need of New York contact," said Porsche. "And from there we developed this relationship and I went onto work with him for Cosmo and People Magazine."
After establishing a relationship with Brown's camp, Porsche said she was then referred to create a look for Karina Pasina. "One job really affects the next," she said. "It's all about having good relationships."

To help C808ers build their image and maintain solid relationships, below are P.Cooper's tips.
For the ladies...
- The red lip is always glamorous.
- Eye lashes will be around for a long time.
- It's important to have your eyebrows arched regularly as they help frame your face.
- Don't have such a heavy hand with your foundation.
- The best bronzer is by Cargo, which gives a soft beautiful glow.
- Also try YSL's Touche Eclat, a highlighter that's said to brighten your complexion.
- You might want to also grab liquid eyeliner by Loriel.
For the Men...
- Skin care is so important.
- The tone of the skin and lines can be improved by having the proper skin-care regimen.
- Try Clarins and Jack Black.
- Be very mindful of your food intake.
- Regularly take vitamins.
- Give yourself a home facial.
- Try to eat a lot of green vegetables and salmon.
*C808 has agreed for Porsche to write a beauty column for the blog. If you have any beauty questions, please send them to couture808@gmail.com as we look to expand our coverage. For further information on Porsche, please visit http://www.porschefabulous.com/

RU Kidding: Beyonce
Tickets for Beyonce's tour went on sale on April 25th. And we can't wait to see the show. While we are flicking are hand to "Put A Ring On It," I'm sure New York native Shykem Smith will cross our mind. Do you think Beyonce will give her free tickets to the show? Check out the clip of the fan begging for free tickets.
Diddy's Next Top Model
Yes. You read correctly. Diddy is going to remix Tyra's ANTM by creating his own show for just male models. Check the clip below.
Spotlight: Gwen Stefani

Something has to be said about the style sense of Gwen Stafani. One word: BANANAS. Her L.A.M.B line is fab! We can't think of one time that we walked past her shoes in a department store or boutique and didn't use expletives in our head. Her shoes are wonderfully crafted, creative and command attention. Below are a pics of her latest releases.

Moving On: Christina Milian

Do we need to put out an Amber alert for Christina Milian's fashion? Child, we think she has gone mad. There was once a time when fans would admire her fashion sense. Now, many feel like she has been surfing the aisles of T.J. Maxx. We thought relationships were suppose to upgrade your fashion sense, but C.Milian has taken a turn for the worse. Until, she returns with some commons sense, C808 is MOVING ON.... *Tear*
Drunk Hot Mess. :(

Ladies & Gents: Accesories
Three's a Trend...
Are you at peace? Well we would hope so... Jewelers are touting that one of this year's trends for accessories is Peace and Love pendants, earrings and rings. This spring and summer, you will see the items in all variations of metallics. While shopping at one of our favorite accessory stores in New York, we saw colored, studded peace pendants as well as long beautiful multi-pendant chains. Fossil, Swarovski Crystal and independent accessory stores are selling the look.

SwagNATION: Day 26's Album Release Party

Last night, I laughed it up with one of my good friends and stood in line for Day 26's record release party at the Ed Hardy store in the NYC's Meat Packing District. The night was filled with sarcastic laughs as we watched D-level celebs walk the red carpet. I usually wouldn't write about an event like this but the haterism flowing from the girls behind me encouraged me to think about how much people want to be noticed or be famous. Football players, several low-rate actors and two upcoming girl groups hit the red carpet as I stood in the rain. (Trust me their names are not important.) The important part is how these two chicks broke down every bit of every one's outfit. At one point, I even chimed in to correct their impolite and fashion-flawed behinds. "Ooohh, who is that guy, don't nobody even know him" snickered one chick wearing bad makeup. "Why am I standing in the rain waiting for these people to go in," chimed her friend.
Several minutes later, a few noticeable people walked the carpet. One of the celebs included Briana from Harlem Heights, who wore a floral dress, leggings, black leather jacket and a green purse from her own collection. She wasn't shy about promoting her label. And the people in line weren't shy at dissing her bag. Which brings me to my point... Haters will always stand on the side line commenting on the action, while those busy living life are walking pass them and going on the other side of the velvet rope.
Although I was in line, I took the time to observe the night's happenings because in my mind I was already busy creating C808's first column SwagNATION, which is all about how to staying in the mindset of being fly and not being concerned with people's opinions. I want to encourage you to stay busy people. Don’t be a hater. And if by chance you find yourself commenting too much on other people’s business, pull it together and start creating your own business. Kat Williams said you need 15 haters by the summer to gauge whether you’re on the right track. Personally, I already have seven.
Love,
AMC
P.S. below are picture from last night’s event. Also, we never saw Day 26 or Dawn Richard because we didn’t want to wait in the rain any longer. Enjoy! :o)

Upcoming Projects: Ne-yo and Method Man
Music Review: Day 26
Turnin' Me On

Day26's sophomore album Forever in A Day is finally here. After all the drama on Mtv's Making the Band 4, we had to see how this album turned out. Overall, the album is a turn-me-on joint as the 16-track album is filled with some up-tempo and slow-jam bangers.
The album was very well thought out, in terms of concepts. But we have to say the execution of the vocal quality could have been better as well as stronger. You can listen for yourself, but it sounds as if on certain recording days the boys weren't taking care of their voices - probably because of all that darn arguing. (Real talk, we heard heavy breathing on a certain track, meaning the singer couldn't carry the notes or he was just too darn close to the mic.)
The standout vocal performer on this album would have to be Robert. Dude! His voice was like silk and flowed like water over the entire album. You can hear the singer riding the beat of the songs, hugging the melodies and then adding adlibs to improve the quality of the tracks. Rob was certainly clocking some hours on this album or at least practicing his Do Re Mi's to pull off such a great sound. At one point, his voice resonated with us some much that we only looked for his voice on tracks to see what he would do in comparison to the other members. We're not riding his jock strap, but just giving credit where credit is due. Listen closely to him on songs such as "Babymaker" and "Then There's You," which are two of the best tracks on the album.
Collectively, the best track on the album is "Perfectly Blind." It's one of those songs that would please baby-making singers R.Kelly and Marvin Gaye because it's just that good. Also, kudos to Brian Micheal Cox who killed the writing and producing quality on the album. Day 26 needs to continue their relationship with him because his work pulls the best of out of them as singers. To hear the album, please visit http://music.aol.com/new-releases-full-cds/#/1

Sunday Best: Swizz Beats
Count Dracula: June Ambrose
Still Counting those pounds, so are we! We're five pounds away from our goal and after that is all about tightening! Anywho, check out fav stylist June Ambrose breaking a sweat in stilettos!
Shoe Crack: Rainy Day

We need someone to administer the Heimlich maneuver, because we are choking at the sight of these fly pair of Wellington (rain) boots from Jimmy Choo and Hunter. The two companies teamed up to create the high-end version of the boot after herds of fashionistas picked up Hunter's boots last year. We must admit, C808 I couldn't get into the "average Jane" version of the boot, especially since you can find a fly pair of rain boots in New York for under $30. But we would crawl the sidewalk for a pair of these.
Behind the Scene: Trey Songz

Check out the behind-the-scene happenings on Trey Songz' new video "I Need A Girl." The artist is the newest member of Jermaine Dupri's Living the Life group Oceans 6. Trey goes by the name 007-11 in the group.... We hear it has a special meaning. Warning: the video features mature/adult topics and language.

Get Hype Brits!
Music Video: Mary Mary
Check out Mary Mary's latest video "God In Me," featuring Kierra Sheard. The video is star studded and features a lot of artists who openly claim G-O-D, aside from their award acceptance speeches.
Gotcha: Kate Moss

Remember this pic? Well at the time, we just figured Kate Moss stood as the model figure for Top Shop because she's the hottest British model to walk this earth. But there's more to it than what meets the eye. K.Moss has a clothing line that will be sold at the store. Peep her Spring/Summer '09 below.
My Boyfriend's Back

After a brief hiatus, the boyfriend jean returns, giving women another reason to look sloppy and yet claim it's trendy. We're not going to tell you to rock this look. However we would advise you not to attempt to fancy up this look like Ms. Simmons, who is pictured below. If you're interested in this look, checkout Prps Jeans, Levi, DKNY and Diesel.
