SwagNATION: Day 26's Album Release Party

Last night, I laughed it up with one of my good friends and stood in line for Day 26's record release party at the Ed Hardy store in the NYC's Meat Packing District. The night was filled with sarcastic laughs as we watched D-level celebs walk the red carpet. I usually wouldn't write about an event like this but the haterism flowing from the girls behind me encouraged me to think about how much people want to be noticed or be famous. Football players, several low-rate actors and two upcoming girl groups hit the red carpet as I stood in the rain. (Trust me their names are not important.) The important part is how these two chicks broke down every bit of every one's outfit. At one point, I even chimed in to correct their impolite and fashion-flawed behinds. "Ooohh, who is that guy, don't nobody even know him" snickered one chick wearing bad makeup. "Why am I standing in the rain waiting for these people to go in," chimed her friend.

Several minutes later, a few noticeable people walked the carpet. One of the celebs included Briana from Harlem Heights, who wore a floral dress, leggings, black leather jacket and a green purse from her own collection. She wasn't shy about promoting her label. And the people in line weren't shy at dissing her bag. Which brings me to my point... Haters will always stand on the side line commenting on the action, while those busy living life are walking pass them and going on the other side of the velvet rope.

Although I was in line, I took the time to observe the night's happenings because in my mind I was already busy creating C808's first column SwagNATION, which is all about how to staying in the mindset of being fly and not being concerned with people's opinions. I want to encourage you to stay busy people. Don’t be a hater. And if by chance you find yourself commenting too much on other people’s business, pull it together and start creating your own business. Kat Williams said you need 15 haters by the summer to gauge whether you’re on the right track. Personally, I already have seven.

Love,
AMC

P.S. below are picture from last night’s event. Also, we never saw Day 26 or Dawn Richard because we didn’t want to wait in the rain any longer. Enjoy! :o)
